Week 7 or Thing 17

I looked at AucklandCity Library bebo pagehttp://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MID=367137231&MemberId=4428799413 and it is very good. I logged on into their bebo page and sent a request to be a friend. Then I looked through MySpace and since I listen Radio Tarana most of the time so I tried to go on my favourite Radio Station but it was blocking, So that did n't work well. It allow you to look through without login and I tried to search music from India and we can listen music of different states and then I downloaded picture from that If you click on link

After that I created my a/c with facebook because it doesn't allow you to look through without creating a/c and it ask to find friends. Actually Face book is quiet good social networking site.

Lastly I looked at Hennepin-County-Library and That is pretty cool. They have got lots of fans and you can chat with librarian and some people were putting wall posts on that. Since I have face book account It takes me directly there where other people are and I can find friends.

Library 2.0 & Web 2.0

I started this post a while ago, and since then I have been busy with other stuff. I like the views of Dr Wendy Schultz that how the libraries are changing from collection of information only to digital age and librarians are acting as trainer for their users with all the information and skills they have. Michael Stephens view of Librarian 2.0 is quite good how librarians can enhance service to its users by meeting online as through Any questions where other libraries including Manukau Libraries help students in doing homework. Public libraries sometimes can not provide enough resources for study purpose and in that case National libraries resources can also be used. I enjoyed the video that related to this week's topic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gmP4nk0EOE I enjoyed how everything is so easy and approachable and also lots of money could be saved where all books are available free and immediately to anyone who has a computer and internet connection. But then probably authors will have no motivation to write books and many people still love to read, If the library will become a virtual place and perhaps the library building will be replaced with a website gateway. So instead of present jobs there will be different jobs to deal with. It is interesting to look forward library web 2.0.

Technorati

I have had a good look around Technorati and did a keyword search for Learning 2.0. in blogs posts It gave me 10,181 results for no. of posts but we can limit our search with tags only, with authority and with language as well and it gives different result.

Then I looked at Blog directory. It is used to find blogs about subjects we are interested in. When I explored the most popular blogs and found that Boing Boing is most popular blog. It has 3848 fans. It is weblog of cultural curiosities and interesting technologies. I looked at Manukau Libraries blog as well.

Tagging, Folksonomies & Social bookmarking in Del.icio.us

I had a look at Del.icio.us and found that really Delicious. I used PLCMCL2 account and clicked on a bookmark that had been bookmarked by alot of other users.
I enjoyed looking at
http://www.librarytechtonics.info/

http://www.theshiftedlibrarian.com/ To create tags for bookmarks take a bit of fiddling and once you know how and I got carried away organising it all. I think I can bookmark page where I can keep all the things what I learnt and my experience through journey of Web2.0 and also I can keep record of my favourite websites.
